POCSO Committee

Core Functions

• Awareness and training on child protection and POCSO law

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight and review of anonymous grievances
• Conducting safety audits of school premises and routines
• Maintaining updated contact directories for quick response
• Managing complaint mechanisms with confidentiality

Support Systems

• Safety resources displayed around campus (e.g. posters, helpline contacts)
• Self-defence or peer support programs for students
• Links with external agencies like the police, CWC (Child Welfare Committee), DCPU (District Child Protection Unit)

Accountability & Escalation

• Handling complaints confidentially and promptly
• Escalating them through established administrative or legal channels if resolution isn’t achieved
